The great Memorial Day 10,000 letter campaign

The great Memorial Day 10,000 letter campaign

Here’s the question:

Can we get 10,000 people to commit to sending at least one letter to a soldier for Memorial Day?

We will soon find out!

There are three things you can do if you are going to participate.

1. First and foremost, write a letter. Or a card. Or a postcard. Or whatever. And mail it to:
    Two For the Troops
    Attn: Memorial Day Letter Campaign
    PO Box 15447
    CHICAGO, IL 60615-5145

2. Go to our facebook invite for the event, at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=127808250569047, and sign up that you are sending a letter.

3. Invite whomever you can and spread the word however possible — especially through facebook, twitter, etc. If the current numbers hold up about 80,000 people will have to know about it before we have 10,000 people commit to sending a letter, so we’ll really need to spread the word over the next couple of days.

So …. Thank you! I am sure we can have this be a great success!

Additionally, please post your stories to the comments of this post — what are you going to be writing to the troops, who are you sending to, etc. We’ll be using them here and on Two For the Troops’ facebook page as well. http://www.twoforthetroops.org/

Let’s make this a Memorial Day our troops will not soon forget!

Certainly glad it's May 23rd - ha!

As you can see, we got snow in the Boise foothills yesterday! And summer "begins" next weekend.

Temps were in the 80s last weekend; yesterday 43 high. I could see my breath when outside. Today is better. In the 50s. Been the craziest spring I've ever seen!

Wonder if we'll EVER get to go camping.

California Poppy Reserve

Poppy Reserve!

My niece Kendall just sent this to me. She and her boyfriend are at the California Poppy Reserve. Isn't this a GREAT picture? I heard the wildflowers in Calfornia were awesome this year due to all the rains.

Thanks, Kendall!

A wonderful way to live

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the momemts that take your breath away. That crisp air this morning will take your breath

Spring has Arrived

At 11:32 MT, Spring arrived in idaho! That makes me so happy. Longer days, especially since daylight savings time started; warmer temps; and little tufts of green appearing in the lawn. It's a great time.

Here in our part of Idaho, the farmers are beginning to till the fields, preparing them for planting. The daffodils have popped up in gardens, they are cleaning out the canals that provide water to the farmers, and golfers are hitting the courses. And Jim and I (mostly me) are talking about camping trips this summer.

Yep, spring has sprung here in Idaho. It's a wondrous sight! One of my favorite times of the year.

What's happening in your neck of the woods?
